Exploring 2024 Design Trends - From AI to Sustainability

Youtube 2024.01.28

At the beginning of the year, everyone tends to look for design trends, right? Recently, various styles coexist, but there are still some trends that stand out. Let’s take a look at a few trends that Sandoll is paying attention to!

1. AI

AI is an indispensable trend not only in design but in every field. In 2023, there were many attempts with generative AI. This year, collaboration with AI will become even more active. AI will help reduce designers’ resources by assisting with concept idea searching, layout suggestions, color and background changes, resizing, etc.! Of course, studying prompts to produce results in the desired direction is essential, right?

2. Nostalgia (ai↔)

Nostalgia can also be related to AI. Unlike AI, it evokes a sense of the past through designs that include hand-drawing, pixel & dot effects. By creating an effect opposite to the uniformity of digital graphics brought by technological advancements, it enhances authenticity and differentiation!

3. Sustainability

As environmental issues like climate change become more visible, people have developed a sense of crisis about the environment. Naturally, interest in sustainability has increased, and design reflecting this trend continues to rise. Previously, neutral color tones and nature motifs were common, but recently, this has expanded to include visual expressions as well as the use of natural materials and upcycling.

There are also other exciting trends like block grids (Vento grids), organic typography, and 3D surrealism. For more detailed explanations and examples of how companies are using these trends, check out the video!
