First, here are some tips for choosing fonts for video subtitles. Given the fast-paced nature of videos, it is crucial to select fonts that are easily readable even in brief moments. Therefore, when choosing fonts for subtitles, we recommend opting for fonts with moderate thickness, not too decorative or too thin. Of course, there are times when you need unique fonts depending on the situation or dialogue. For example, rough and flowing fonts might be suitable for expressing emotions like anger or sadness, don't you think?
Now let us introduce four types of fonts commonly used in videos.
Sans-serif style fonts are commonly used in informational videos. When conveying a lot of information through text, clean sans-serif fonts are typically used as they not only reduce eye strain, but also enhance the credibility of the speaker's words.
Representatively, 「210 OmniGothic」 is a body font designed with a focus on readability, making it easy to read even in small-sized, long texts. With the 10 weights available, it offers a wide range of choices for selecting the appropriate thickness depending on the subtitle size, which allows for hierarchies in a large amount of information. Above all, it maintains a neutral impression by minimizing individuality, making it suitable for use in videos of any topic, fulfilling the role of basic subtitles effectively.
Next is the font suitable for expressing emotions or emphasizing subtitles.
This font often seen in variety shows or YouTube videos is 「210 Yeonpilsketch」. True to its name (Pencil Sketch), it captures the texture of doodles made with a pencil, giving a lively and playful feel as if handwritten. As shown in the example image, this font is suitable for a variety of emotional expressions, particularly recommended for subtitles emphasizing surprise or confusion.
These fonts leave a strong impression even in short moments. For similar purposes, we also recommend fonts like 「210 Stoneage」 and 「0calli Spicy」.
We’ll now introduce fonts that are suitable for cute daily videos.
There are many handwriting fonts in the Taeyoungwhache font series used for movie subtitles. Among them, 「CobaltBlue」 stands out with its round and cute impression, suitable for everyday videos like YouTube. By adding effects to the color and border like in the example image above, you can use it for various emotional expressions. With 7 different weights available, you can efficiently utilize thin weights for dialogue subtitles and thick weights for thumbnails!

Lastly, a calligraphy-style font is recommended for a sentimental aesthetic.
